This is the realm where I touch on my personal likes, interests, and projects that I have pursued in recent past or I may be dreaming off right now.

PERSONAL

MIT Cricket Club

In March 2008, I found the MIT Cricket Club [website - MIT Cricket Club , facebook - Facebook - MIT Cricket Club ], at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Along with Ishaan, who acted as a sitting Treasurer, I took the leadership position of the President of the Club. The club proved to be a means to get away from classes and Problem Sets (MIT calls it P-Sets, and some even term it as Opportunity Sets), and maintain a study-life balance, and also create a social community of cricket enthusiasts across MIT. The club proved to be a great success, right when it hosted the first multi-university/local club level tournament in Fall 2008. Subsequently, Vivek Jaiswal (also the vice captain of the team) and I organized 4 more tournaments, and hosted many teams from the Massachusetts and Rhode Island area. The last tourney, played in February 2010 was played for the Valentine Cup and the finals were hosted on Feb 14th. I have not played much cricket in the past 1 year in Chicago, but hope to get back to either organizing cricket or playing as part of a team. If you are in Massachusetts, and interested in playing cricket, join the facebook group at MIT Cricket Club

MIT Bollywood Club

In August 2008, I found the MIT Bollywood Movie Club [facebook - Facebook - MIT Bollywood Movie Club ], and organized groups of students and MIT affiliates to watch movies on campus, in theaters and in class rooms. The club was a huge success at MIT, Harvard, Tufts, North Eastern, BU and other universities of Boston area.

Coming soon..beach version of Cricket in Chicago

Very soon I plan on organizing (and playing) a beach version of cricket, near downtown Chicago. We have beach volleyball and soccer, why not cricket ?
